Bachar Karroum
President, Co-founder, and author of multiple bestsellers.
With the wish to transmit goodhearted values to his children, Bachar founded, with his wife, GoodHearted Books in 2017.
Fueled by higher purpose, it is after a career of more than 15 years in information technology and project management that Bachar wrote and published his first children's book. Following the creation of more than a dozen books published in multiple languages, including several “bestsellers”, he made the leap and created a publishing house.
One of the principal authors of GoodHearted Books, Bachar discovered the world of writing as an adult. "It was during my graduate studies that my desire to simplify, democratize, and make the most complex concepts accessible to young people was born," he says. “And doing so for my own child is what gave me the spark”. This is how spiritual and personal development stories for children were born.
With a mission to disseminate thoughts, words, and ideas, Bachar seeks to contribute to a more human world, oriented towards open-mindedness, acceptance of others, continuous self-improvement, and benevolence towards others. According to him, all these values transcend cultures, religions, borders, and prejudices.
Born in Lebanon, he now lives in Montreal where he and his wife are raising their two children with the good values of two religions and the mixing of the cultures of the East and the West. Bachar holds an MBA from the University of Sherbrooke and a Bachelor of Computer Sciences from Université du Québec à Montréal.
Aline Massouh
Vice-President and Co-founder
Born from the desire of wanting to ignite the hearts and minds of her two children, Aline, with her husband, founded GoodHearted Books in 2017.
Aline has over 15 years of experience in marketing and product development working in the toy, mobile gaming, and aerospace industries. An innovation aficionada, she thrives on translating customer needs and insights into impactful products that make a difference. Though having learned a lot from her multiple roles in the corporate world, Aline has always had a calling to explore entrepreneurship and to create something of her own.
Aline’s greatest motivation in life is to have a positive impact in the world, however small, “by sowing a little kindness, and inspiration to demonstrate grit and grace through life, one child – and one book – at a time.” Aline via GoodHearted Books aims to encourage children to wear a creative lens through their lifelong journey and to give them the tools to develop and embrace their whole, truest, and highest selves.
She holds a Master of Science in Marketing from HEC Montreal and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University. Born in Montreal, Aline speaks four languages and was raised in a multicultural and diverse family of Canadian, Egyptian, Lebanese, and Italian origins. Living wholeheartedly, Aline brings her own colors and positive outlook to every GoodHearted Books creation.
